When talking Anchor Hocking vintage, what is generally understood is that the collector is seeking “Fire King” products – those produced by the company between the 1940s and 1976. These pieces are the most coveted among collectors. There are thousands of pieces out there, and not all are easily identifiable. They widely in color and pattern – but what they have in common is beauty and durability.

Some examples of Anchor Hocking vintage pieces follow. First are the forest green pieces – a wide variety of patterns and shapes, from plates to bowls to stemware and even ashtrays and other accessories – but all in the deep, distinctive forest green color. Also popular are the Gay Fad dishes, made of solid white glass with painted fruit patterns, like pears, strawberries, grapes, cherries, and apples. The Blue Heaven line includes cups, mugs, tumblers, and bowls in clear or white glass with an abstract pattern of whimsical shapes.

Also highly coveted (and more highly priced) among Anchor Hocking vintage collectors are the jadite “Jade-ite” lines, made of an opaque, pale green glass. Patterns on this glass include bubbles, sheaves of wheat, and floral engravings. The Peach Lustre (often seen in the homes of grandparents) is another popular line, which is an opaque, polished-iridescent peach color which is also quite iconic of the brand. Royal Ruby is also a lovely, non-opaque shade.
